Reading Check-In: December 25, 2021

Merry Christmas to those who celebrate it!

Because today is a holiday and I’m a bit of a workaholic, I’m keeping this week’s post simple and straightforward.

What have you finished reading recently?

I did it! I finished this book, which is the 20th book released in 2021, which means I’ll be able to present a Top 20 of 2021 list on the 31st.

Jay Kristoff not only brought back vampires to their nature, but also wrote an amazing beginning of a new trilogy! I’ll be waiting for Book 2, patiently.

What are you reading currently?

My Buddy Read with sasha_lovesbooks continues with the 2nd book in The Nsibidi Scripts series, Akata Warrior. This book takes place a year after the events in the 1st book, Akata Witch, and a lot more is at stake for the protagonist and her friends. Do NOT compared this series to Harry Potter because this series stands out for several reasons. This Buddy Read will continue when the next book in the series, Akata Woman, is released in January 2022.

What are you playing currently?

Persona 5 is one of my favorite video games in recent years. When Royal was announced, I knew I was going to have to play it eventually.

And, of course, I had to get Strikers!

I’m still new to the Nintendo Switch, but these are some of the games I’m looking forward to playing.

Book Hauls

From Australia and from the donation I made to The Pixel Project (end domestic violence). And yes, the author wrote an amazing death scene for me about me!

These are the illustrated editions.

Reviews I Need to Write Up

Up next are my lists of Favorites of 2021 & Most Anticipated of 2022!

Happy Holidays & Have a Healthy New Year!
