A few weeks ago, some of the bookbloggers I follow have posted this “Book Tag.” I thought it was both clever and creative, so I decided to give it a try and see what I came up with.
5 Books You Love
Many of you won’t be surprised by 1 book being on this list; and yet, I do have other favorites and I recommend them often to readers based on their interests.
- Vita Nostra by Marina and Sergey Dyachenko (I’m SO EXCITED to read the upcoming sequel!).
- The Fifth Season (and the rest of The Broken Earth Trilogy) by N.K. Jemisin.
- Every Heart A Doorway (and the rest of the Wayward Children series) by Seanan McGuire
- The Sword of Kaigen: A Theonite War Story (Winner of S.P.F.B.O. 5) by M.L. Wang.
- Nettle & Bone by T. Kingfisher.
4 Autobuy Authors
To me, “Autobuy” equals buying without a second thought. While I have many favorite authors, many of them are not “Autobuy Authors” because I have NOT bought ALL of their works. This includes multiple series one author writes and releases within 1 calendar year. So for this list, I’m going to keep it simple.
3 Fave Genres
- Speculative Fiction (read up on how I “define” the genre here).
- Historical Fiction
- Biography/Memoirs
2 Places You Read
In a previous post, I mentioned places where I’ve managed to read. However, due to some obvious events, here’s where I tend to do the most reading now:
- At Home
- In the Car
1 Book You Promise to Read Soon
This book has been on my TBR Stack since its announcement; not to mention, I met the author and got his book signed! I did try to listen to the audiobook edition of this book, but I had trouble following the narration. So, in order to make time for other books on my TBR, I had to put this book aside. My interest in this book remains piqued because other individuals I know who have read this book enjoyed it A LOT! Not to mention, I’ve learned more about what this trilogy is supposed to be about (a fantasy series inspired by Sword-and-Sorcery, African History, Culture, and Folklore, and A Song of Ice and Fire. I hope to at least start reading this book by the end of this year, especially with its sequel having been released earlier this year. I’m already looking forward to read the third and final book in the trilogy; and, I haven’t started the first book yet.
Which books would make it on your 5…4…3…2…1 Book Tag?
Cool tag!
And I love Sarah Addison Allen’s books too.
Did you get her new book yet?
I haven’t, but I intend to.
I wish she’d write more stories about the Waverley sisters and their apple tree.
