I’m going to be honest: I barely got any reading done last month. Not since I was in grad school has my reading been so unproductive. It’s not that I didn’t read anything, it that I didn’t read enough to finish any book. Hopefully, I will read more than 1 book this month.
What have I finished reading recently?
NOTHING.
What am I reading right now?
The second part of the Buddy Read I’m doing with Shauna. So far, this sequel is as brilliant as the first book.
So far, this is a cute sequel to its predecessor.
It’s amazing that I haven’t read Mark Lawrence’s previous trilogy; yet, I read the first book in his latest one without hesitation.
This book is going to be one of the “best books of the year.” Yes, it’s that good, so far!
Library Read
This month’s selection for the Teen Book Club. By award-winning author, Tae Keller.
What will I read next?
I was surfing through Kirkus Reviews (for work) when this book cover caught my attention. The description of this book reminds me of Rhapsody by Elizabeth Haydon (I haven’t read the rest of the series). The critic praised the book and gave it a “Get It” rating. The review piqued my interest further and I went to the author’s website where I learned the book was part of a Kickstarter campaign. I was curious enough to pledge towards the campaign–which was successful–and now, I received the ebook (I pledged for a printed edition, too). I’m eager to start this book, but I know I won’t get to it until after the preliminary round in SCKA is over.

I heard a lot of good things about this book. I couldn’t get an (e)ARC, so I preordered it.
How is your reading coming along? I hope it’s going better than mine.
I’m glad you’re enjoying HEART OF THE SUN WARRIOR so far! I loved it, even more than the first book. I’ve seen some good comments in passing about THE WILL OF THE MANY. It looks interesting, but also quite long.
Since when has “long” books ever stopped us from reading them?! 😉
Hahaha since having an outrageous TBR list!
adore the blog !
Thank you very much!
I’ve seen so many great reviews for Fourth Wing that I can’t wait to read it. Hope you’re enjoying your current reads!
I hope May will prove to be a better month of reading for you! I’m definitely very much curious about Mark Lawrence’s latest novel too. P.S. I just discovered your blog and I wanted to mention that it’s pretty awesome. 😀
Thank you for your encouragement!
