SCKA 2023: The Finalists

It’s time to announce the finalists for the Subjective Chaos Kind of Awards 2023. Amongst all of the nominees, the judges, the other bookbloggers, and I were surprised that we didn’t have “stacked” finalists like we did last year. Although, we our votes resulted in there being 2 finalists per category, it shouldn’t surprise you to know that the tallies were close enough that we were close to having more than 2 finalists in some of the categories, again. That is not to say that the other judges and I know who’s going to be the winner in each category. Hence why we get to re-read the finalists again and hope for no more than 1 winner per category.

Here are the Finalists for this year’s S.C.K.A.:

Best Fantasy Novel

Best Science Fiction Novel

Best Blurred Boundaries Novel

Best Novella

Best Short Fiction

“This Excessive Use of Pickled Food” by Leora Spitzer

“The Lady of The Yellow-Painted Library” by Tobi Ogundiran

Congratulations to all of our finalists! Good luck and we will see who the winners will be!

Have you read any of these books? Who do you believe will win this year’s S.C.K.A.?!

  1. This is such an interesting list. There are a bunch of books that I’ve never heard of, but that’s a good thing. I have a copy of Mountain in the Sea that I need to get to.
